Macau was a Portugese colony until 1999 and Macau’s rich culture is a blend of Asian and European elements.

Macau attracts visitors from all over the world, most of them coming to take part in Macau’s gambling industry.

Gambling in Macau was once a place for serious gamblers only, but recent development has made gambling in Macau much more similar to gambling in Las Vegas.

For those that want to see more of Macau than the card tables, there are plenty of cultural and historical sights in Macau.

The Historic Centre of Macau, a UNESCO world heritage site, has almost 30 historic monuments and eight public squares.
