Mongol Rally 2012 Dates: UK: 14 July 2012; Czech Republic: 16 July 2012

The Mongol Rally is a 10,000 mile road race that covers a third of the surface of the Earth.

Teams of drivers pile into tiny cars or motorcycles to drive across countries, over mountain ranges, and through deserts from Europe to Asia.

Starting in Goodwood, England or the Czech Republic, Mongol Rally teams take whatever route they choose to get to Mongolia.

The rally takes around 4 to 6 weeks to complete. At the finish line there are events and parties for those that make it.

Each Mongol Rally team must pay an entry fee of 714 GBP and raise a minimum of 1,000 GBP for charity in order to participate.
