The Tintagel Colombo hotel is one of the best boutique hotels in Sri Lanka.

The Tintagel is the former home of one of the most prestigious ruling families in Sri Lanka. The building, which is steeped in history, is a beautiful colonial-era mansion.

Rooms at the Tintagel Colombo hotel are decorated in neutral tones and have large balconies overlooking the gardens and terraces. Bathrooms have standard amenities and large showers. Linens are not always clean, which is one of the hotel’s only drawbacks.

The hotel has a luxurious lobby lounge, a beautiful library, a restaurant, a bar (no alcohol is served, so make sure to bring your own), and a terrace where breakfast is served (make sure to order Sri Lankan breakfast 24 hours in advance if you want to eat traditional food in the morning).

The staff at the Tintagel is helpful and welcoming, although you may have to ask several times if you want something brought to your room.

Rooms at the Tintagel Colombo hotel start at US$249 for Executive Suites and US$373 for Superior Suites. Room rates include taxes and breakfast.
